About Me

A space to be yourself

I became a counsellor because I believe deeply in the power of feeling truly heard. Throughout my own life I've witnessed how much it matters to have someone alongside you — not to fix or advise, but simply to be present with you in a way that feels safe and without judgement.

My approach is integrative with a person-centred foundation, which means we work collaboratively in a way that's tailored to you — drawing on Humanistic, CBT, Psychodynamic, and Transactional Analysis (TA) frameworks as and when they're helpful. You set the pace; I follow your lead.

I work with adults, young people, older people, and trainees across a wide range of life experiences. Whether you're facing something specific or simply feel that something isn't right, you don't need to have the words for it yet — that's what our sessions are for.

My Belief

You don't have to face difficult times alone

Life can sometimes feel hard to bear. We all come across challenges that are difficult to face on our own, and the thought of opening up can feel daunting.

Many of us cope by holding on to our feelings for fear of being judged — sitting with thoughts we find hard to share, carrying them quietly on our own.

It's natural to feel apprehensive about speaking to someone new. That's why I offer an empathic, non-judgmental, confidential safe space — so you can feel valued, heard, understood, and respected unconditionally throughout your counselling journey.

"Sometimes we need someone to simply be there — not to fix anything, but just to let us feel that we are cared for and supported."
What I Can Help With

Whatever you're going through, you're not alone

I work with adults, young people, older people, and trainees across a wide range of experiences. You don't need a diagnosis or a label — if something feels difficult, that's reason enough to reach out.

FAQs

Questions you might want to ask

It's completely normal to have questions before reaching out. Here are some of the things people most often want to know.

Is everything I share confidential?
Yes. Everything discussed in our sessions is held in the strictest confidence. The only exceptions are rare safeguarding situations — for example, if I believed you or someone else was at serious risk of harm. I would always try to discuss this with you first, and I explain everything clearly in our initial agreement.
What happens in the first session?
Before we begin, I offer a free 20-minute telephone consultation so we can talk briefly about what's brought you here. If we both feel it's a good fit, our first session is a chance to go at your own pace — there's no pressure to share more than you're ready to. We'll talk about what you're hoping to get from counselling and how we might work together.
Do I have to commit to a set number of sessions?
Not at all. I offer both short-term and open-ended counselling. Some people find a handful of sessions helpful; others prefer to work over a longer period. We'll review things as we go, and you're always free to stop whenever you feel ready — there's no obligation to continue.
I'm not sure I'm "bad enough" to need counselling — is that okay?
Absolutely. You don't need to be in crisis, have a diagnosis, or be able to explain exactly what's wrong. If something feels difficult — whether that's low mood, a life change, feeling stuck, or simply not feeling like yourself — that's enough. Counselling isn't only for the most severe situations; it's for anyone who wants to feel better.
How long is each session, and how often will we meet?
Sessions are 50 minutes. Most people find weekly sessions work well, particularly at the start — regularity helps build trust, rapport and continuity. That said, we can discuss what works for you, and the frequency can always be adjusted as things progress.
What if I want to stop or take a break?
You're in control throughout. If you want to pause, take a break, or end our sessions at any point, just let me know — ideally with a little notice so we can have a proper ending, but there's never any pressure. Your comfort and autonomy always come first.

Taking that first step

Reaching out can feel hard — but you don't need to have everything figured out before you get in touch. There's no obligation, no pressure, and nothing you say will be wrong. Just a gentle conversation to see how I can help.
